| The iP8500
incorporates Canon’s latest fully patented innovation,
Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE)
technology print heads. FINE print heads are
manufactured using technology adapted from Canon’s expertise in
manufacturing sub-micron integrated circuits. FINE print heads
feature ink nozzles with tolerances many times finer than a
human hair. These high-density nozzles eject millions of minute
ink droplets each second with a microscopic precision simply not
possible with traditional print heads, which are assembled from
multiple parts. |

| Bringing
colours to vivid, vibrant life – the PIXMA iP8500 utilises
Canon’s ingenious ChromaPLUS 8-colour ink system, which
increases red-region saturation by approximately 60% and
green-region saturation by some 30%. This enables the iP8500 to
print previously unobtainable shades of hue. Additionally,
8-colour printing accurately reproduces naturally subtle colour
gradations across all tones and colour densities; so accurate
that the iP8500 matches the colour characteristics of positive
film. Photos are so vibrant, they possess a luminescence that
seems 3-dimensional. |

| The iP8500
features Canon’s Individual Ink Tank system, so you only need
replace the colour that has run out so that not a drop is
wasted. And the built-in ink detection system only permits a
print job to begin if there is sufficient ink in all tanks to
finish the job. |

features a FINE print head that ejects ultra-fine 2 picolitre
ink droplets in all print modes. Thanks to Canon’s advanced
dot-control technology, these microscopic droplets are placed
with exceptional precision to achieve a brilliant 4800 x 2400
dpi resolution. The results are breathtaking: a naturally smooth
tonality without graininess across the entire image. |

monochrome text documents, and 14 ppm for colour documents.
